Millington is a village of pale chalk-and-brick houses in a fold of the Wolds, above the sheep pastures and dry valleys of Millington Dale. This is Hockney country — David Hockney painted the surrounding Wolds landscape for the works shown in his 2012 exhibition ‘A Bigger Picture’ — and the lane along the dale makes a gorgeous walk or drive. There’s no station near, so come by car.
