Vast tidal sands with fells across the water.
Come to Morecambe for the bay itself - a huge sweep of sand and tidal flats with the Lake District hills lined up across the water. The five-mile promenade takes in the cheery Eric Morecambe statue and the beautifully restored art-deco Midland Hotel. It’s a bay resort on the up again after some leaner decades. The station is right by the front, a short walk from the seafront.
