St Mary’s at Fairford keeps the only complete set of medieval stained glass in an English parish church — twenty-eight windows glazed around 1500–1517, paid for by the wool merchant John Tame and attributed to Henry VII’s glazier Barnard Flower. The town itself is a small, pleasant place on the River Coln; church details at St Mary’s. Swindon is the nearest station, about 16km south.
