Bramber is a single street below the broken keep of a Norman castle, whose ruins are free to wander. At the foot of the village stands St Mary’s House, a timber-framed medieval house with gardens open on set afternoons. Steyning adjoins it to the west. Shoreham-by-Sea is the nearest station, about 6km south-east.
