Moorland fall on the Brontë pilgrimage walk.
Top Withens is a ruined farmhouse high on the moor above Haworth, long linked with the setting of Emily Brontë’s Wuthering Heights — though a plaque there admits the house itself never matched her description. It’s a proper moorland walk to reach, a few miles out from Haworth on exposed paths, so wear boots and pick your weather. The nearest station is Hebden Bridge, a fair way to the south.
