A 1978 horsebox turned wood-fired sauna on the pebbles of Worthing beach, opposite Heene Terrace
Save this place
Fire, Salt & Sea started with a horsebox built in 1978 just up the road in Cowfold, which the owner found on Facebook 45 years later and turned into a sauna. It now stands on Worthing’s pebble beach opposite Heene Terrace, lined with Norwegian spruce and English alder and heated by a 200kg wood-fired Estonian stove, with a full-width window facing the sea. You cool off with watering-can showers or a dip in the sea.
