The Lodge is the RSPB’s headquarters, wrapped in a reserve of woodland, heath and formal gardens on the Greensand Ridge above the Ivel valley near Sandy. It holds the largest stretch of heathland in the county and an Iron Age hillfort, with around five miles of trails and hobbies and nightjars in summer. Open every day from dawn to dusk, with a car park; Sandy station is about 1.5km off.
