One of only a handful of English pubs still without a bar counter, this quarry-tiled Bedfordshire local pours its ales straight from casks in the cellar, a survival that has earned it a place on CAMRA’s inventory of historic pub interiors. It makes a characterful halt near the Greensand Ridge Walk, or after a look round the Swiss Garden at Old Warden Park.
