On a ridge above the Welland valley near Corby, East Carlton Countryside Park spreads across old estate parkland with woodland walks and open lawns. A heritage centre in the former stables covers the area’s ironstone and steelmaking past. Entry is free, though parking is charged. Corby station is under 6km to the east.
