Reached on foot across Port Meadow, or down a lane at Binsey, the Perch is a thatched 17th-century inn with a wide garden under the willows near the Thames. Lewis Carroll is said to have rowed Alice Liddell up here from Oxford. It’s a favourite summer walk from the city, about half an hour across the meadow from Oxford station.
