Worcester College’s 26 acres of gardens are one of the more unexpected green spaces in central Oxford, laid out around a lake dug from boggy ground in the early 19th century, with sculptures by Henry Moore and Nigel Hall set among the lawns and canalside woodland. Visiting is more restricted than at some colleges: set hours are held for alumni, prospective students, University members and local residents rather than casual tourists, so check the college’s own visiting page before turning up. Oxford Botanic Garden and Christ Church are both a short walk away.
