Oxford's grandest college, with Tom Tower and its own cathedral.

Christ Church is both an Oxford college and the cathedral for the diocese, its huge quadrangle watched over by Tom Tower, added by Christopher Wren in 1682. Lewis Carroll was a maths don here in the 1860s, and based Alice in Wonderland partly on Alice Liddell, young daughter of the college’s dean. Entry to the college is by timed ticket, released weekly online, though the adjoining Meadow is free to walk at any time. Thames Path runs along its southern edge.
