The Nut Tree has held a Michelin star since 2008, unusual for a thatched, whitewashed pub in a hamlet as small as Murcott. Chef Mike North cooks refined modern British food, though the bar still works as a village local with its own beer garden. Booking well ahead is wise. It sits north-east of Oxford, off the lanes around Otmoor.
