The post mill on Brill common is one of the oldest working windmills in England — its timbers have been dated to the 1680s. It stands on a hilltop spur above the Vale of Aylesbury, the village ringed by common land with wide views west into Oxfordshire. The windmill opens on some summer days; the common around it is open any time.
