Haddenham is built in witchert — a local cob of chalky white earth and straw, puddled up in courses and capped with a tiled coping to throw off the rain. Witchert walls and cottages survive around the duck ponds and green, and the village has its own station, Haddenham & Thame Parkway, about 1km west.
