The King's Head
Open to visitorsa National Trust place — check opening times and admission before you go
Reached through a cobbled archway off Aylesbury’s market square, the King’s Head is one of England’s best-preserved coaching inns, with parts dating to the 1450s. It was given to the National Trust in 1925 and still runs as a pub, these days by the local Chiltern Brewery. The old glass, timber and courtyard are as much the draw as the beer.
