In the hills above Wendover, Hale Valley is a small family vineyard making sparkling and still wines on a modest scale. It isn’t a regular visitor attraction — tastings happen by arrangement and the odd open day rather than on a fixed schedule, so it’s worth contacting them before turning up. Wendover station is only about a kilometre away, handy if you do get a date in the diary.
