Walter Rothschild built this museum to hold his own zoological collection, and opened it to the public in 1892; his family later gave it to the nation, and it’s now run as part of the Natural History Museum. The Victorian galleries are packed with mounted animals from around the world, from big cats to hummingbirds. Entry is free, and it sits in Tring itself.
