Tring is a small market town on the Chiltern edge, best known for the Natural History Museum at Tring, Walter Rothschild’s own zoological collection, its Victorian galleries packed with mounted animals. Tring Park rises wooded behind the town, and the reservoirs built to feed the Grand Union Canal draw birdwatchers just to the north.
