A duck pond, timbered cottages and the old village stocks and whipping post sit on the green at Aldbury, under the wooded Chiltern scarp. Footpaths climb straight up into the Ashridge Estate and its beechwoods, passing the Bridgewater Monument above the village. Tring station is about 1.5km west.
