Ivinghoe Beacon

The Ridgeway ends — or begins — at Ivinghoe Beacon, a bare chalk summit at the north-east tip of the Chilterns. An Iron Age hillfort once crowned it, and the short pull to the top opens views across the vale into neighbouring counties. It’s open access, kept by the National Trust, and free to walk up from the village of Ivinghoe below.
