Arthur Lasenby Liberty, who founded the Liberty store on Regent Street, bought the manor at The Lee in 1898 and reshaped the village — laying out the green, cricket pitch and cottages you see today. It’s a high Chilterns village around that broad green, often named one of the prettiest in the county. Great Missenden station is about 3km south.
