Roald Dahl lived at Gipsy House in Great Missenden for over thirty years and is buried in the hilltop churchyard. The high street of old shops and coaching inns fed straight into his books — the museum built around his archive and writing hut is here, and the Nags Head was his local. Trains stop in the village on the Chiltern line.
