The Last Drop stands in the Grassmarket, the square where Edinburgh’s public gallows once stood — the name is a grim little pun on it. It’s a lively, low-ceilinged Old Town pub in the thick of the Grassmarket’s bars, doing food through the day and a good pick for a pint after a walk down from the Castle. Handy for the Bow Bar and Victoria Street just up the hill.
