St Mary’s Episcopal Cathedral rises over the West End, a Victorian Gothic church designed by George Gilbert Scott and, with its three spires, the largest church built in Scotland since the Reformation. The tall central spire is a west-side landmark; the two western spires are known locally as Barbara and Mary. It keeps a fine musical tradition, with a choir and regular sung services. Open to visitors, free, and just a couple of minutes from Haymarket station.
