Bennets Bar sits right beside the King’s Theatre in Tollcross and has kept its Edwardian fittings more or less intact — jewelled mirrors, tiling, stained glass and a mahogany gantry. It’s a proper pre-show pint sort of place, popular with theatregoers, and does a good line in whisky. Come early on a show night if you want a seat. About a 20-minute walk south-west of the centre.
