The World’s End sits on the Royal Mile at the point where the old city once ended — its outer wall is part of the 16th-century Flodden Wall, and the “world’s end” was everything beyond the town gate here. It’s a traditional Old Town pub doing food and pints of an evening, in one of the most historic stretches of the Mile. The line of the old gate is still marked in the cobbles outside. Waverley station is a short walk downhill.
