A Victorian Gothic mansion above Grasmere, the Forest Side pairs quietly refined rooms with ingredient-led cooking from head chef Paul Leonard, much of it drawn from the kitchen garden and the surrounding fells. The dining room is light and calm, letting the food lead. Walk it off on a climb up Stone Arthur, or drop into Grasmere village for Wordsworth’s Dove Cottage.
