The Craven Arms at Appletreewick is a candlelit, flagstoned old inn with open fires — and beside it a fully heather-thatched cruck barn, said to be the first built in Upper Wharfedale in over 300 years. Cask ale and good food draw in walkers from the Dales Way and nearby Trollers Gill. Skipton station is about 11km to the south-west.
