A former lead-mining village on the moor edge above Grassington, Hebden strings along its beck as it drops to the Wharfe past old miners’ cottages. A suspension footbridge crosses the river below the village on the walk round to Burnsall. It’s quiet now, but the moor above is full of shafts, spoil heaps and mining remains for anyone who likes poking about industrial history.
