St Michael’s is set apart from the houses, down by the River Wharfe in the fields between Linton and Grassington, and is reached on foot rather than by car. It’s a low medieval church that has long served several surrounding villages at once. Linton’s own green, a little away, is worth a look for the elegant Fountaine’s Hospital almshouses and a tiny packhorse bridge over the beck. Open daily; the Fountaine Inn is by the green.
