Rode Hall at Scholar Green sits in parkland laid out to a plan by the great landscaper Humphry Repton. Beyond the house there’s a walled kitchen garden dating from the early 1700s, still growing fruit and veg, and bluebell walks through the woods in spring. It opens seasonally, so check before you visit. Alsager station is about 3km to the south-west.
