Ragley is the Palladian seat of the Seymour family, the Marquesses of Hertford, built from around 1680 near Alcester. Capability Brown laid out the parkland in the 18th century, and below the west terrace a circular rose garden marks where a Victorian formal garden by Robert Marnock once stood. The pleasure gardens run to woodland walks and a lake; the house itself is no longer open for day-to-day visits, though the park hosts a full programme of public events through the year.
