On the limestone Cliff north of Lincoln, Hall Farm gardens ramble over about three acres around an old farmhouse — a sunken garden, walled gravel beds, old roses and mixed borders. A path from the bottom leads down to a medieval moat, over an acre of water ringing the site of a lost manor, now being turned into a wild garden. The nursery has closed but the gardens stay open. Kirton Lindsey station is roughly 10km north.
