If you’re after a decent parkland walk, the 5.5-mile circuit around Farnborough Hall takes in Sourlands Pool and an 18th-century terrace walk designed by Sanderson Miller, with temples and an obelisk along the way. The honey-stone house is still the Holbech family’s home and opens on a limited seasonal basis, cash only, alongside the grounds; National Trust members go free. Banbury station is about 9.4km south, and it’s close to the Macmillan Way.
