The Simkin family have farmed at Essington since 1892, and still grow the fruit and vegetables sold in their farm shop on the edge of Wolverhampton — some thirty-odd crops across fifty acres, with pick-your-own in season. Alongside the produce there’s a butchery, deli, bakery and a restaurant for lunch. Bloxwich North station is about 3km east.
