St Oswald’s rises straight off the cobbles in the middle of Askrigg, a tall Perpendicular church that’s largely 15th century. Its wide, light nave makes it feel bigger than the village around it. Askrigg fans may recognise the square from All Creatures Great and Small, filmed here in the 1970s and 80s. Open daily, with the Kings Arms just across the way.
