The Kings Head faces the green at Gunnerside, a Swaledale village at the mouth of Gunnerside Gill — one of the finest walks into the old lead-mining country in the Dales. This nineteenth-century inn is a welcome sight after a day among the ruins and hushes up the gill. Check food days before relying on it. Garsdale station is roughly 17km away.
