St Mary’s dominates the small village of Bunny, a big 14th-century church much worked on by Sir Thomas Parkyns, the “wrestling baronet” who ran an annual wrestling match in his park and wrote a manual on the sport. His monument inside is hard to miss: it shows him twice over, once squared up in a wrestling stance and once having just thrown his opponent, Father Time. Grade I listed, open and free.
