Out on the South Holland marsh, St Mary Magdalene is big enough that it’s sometimes counted a cathedral of the fens. The body is grand Perpendicular, its walls given over to huge windows, though the tower never got the tall spire it was designed for and ends in a stub above the parapet. It sits by the road through Gedney, Grade I listed and open to look round.
