A strange, affecting sight: a small thatched church built in the 17th century inside the roofless shell of a much larger medieval one, whose tower and broken nave walls still stand around it. The village of Covehithe has all but vanished, and the sea is eating the cliffs close by. Open access, down a dead-end lane; Covehithe Beach is a short walk on.
