Park in Covehithe and walk down the lane past the ruined shell of St Andrew’s church to reach the sand — there’s no car park at the beach itself. The low sandy cliffs here are eroding fast, a few metres a year, so the path shifts and the shore feels genuinely wild. Behind the dunes lies Benacre Broad, a reedy lagoon good for birds. Wear boots, and keep clear of the crumbling cliff edges.
