The real draw at Jesus Church in Troutbeck is the east window: Pre-Raphaelite stained glass of 1873, designed by William Morris with Edward Burne-Jones and Ford Madox Brown. The church itself was rebuilt in 1736 on a much older site. It’s an easy stop on the valley road between Windermere and Kirkstone, and free to look inside. Windermere station is about 5km to the south.
