Half a church, and the half still standing is the parish church. Benedictine monks built Crowland over the fen hermitage of St Guthlac; at the Dissolution the north aisle of the nave was kept and roofed for the parish, while the rest was left beside it as a roofless shell, the great west front and its tiers of carved figures facing the street. Open free to visitors most days around the middle of the day, apart from services and funerals, with worship on Sundays. The three-way Trinity Bridge is 300m away in Crowland.
