Hardley Drainage Mill sits on the bank of the Yare at the midpoint of the Wherryman’s Way, the long-distance path between Norwich and Great Yarmouth. Restored by a volunteer trust, it opens at weekends from spring to autumn, with a small visitor centre on the story of Broads drainage. There’s no road to the door — walk in from Hardley Staithe, about a mile, or moor alongside. Loddon is the nearest village.
