Right beside the A47 on the Acle marshes, Stracey Arms is an easy Broads windpump to reach — a four-storey red-brick drainage mill built in 1883 to lift water off the levels into the Bure. It was pressed into service as a pillbox during the Second World War, and now holds a display on marsh drainage, open through spring and summer after a recent restoration. Acle station is under two miles north-west; the Horsey seals are further up the coast.
