Alone in fields south of the village, St Margaret’s is one of Norfolk’s most complete Norman churches — round-towered and thatched, with a rounded apse still curving round the east end. The carved north doorway, ringed with zigzags and rosettes, is among the best 12th-century work in the county. Now cared for by the Churches Conservation Trust and open to visitors. Loddon is the nearest village, a couple of miles north.
