Mallyan Spout drops in a thin ribbon down a mossy ravine on West Beck, and is reckoned one of the tallest falls on the North York Moors. The walk in from Goathland is short but uneven — a path leads down beside the Mallyan Spout Hotel to the beck, and the last stretch over rocks gets slippery, so steady footwear helps. It’s at its most impressive after wet weather, when the flow really builds. Grosmont station is about 4km to the north.
