Hardraw Force drops a hundred feet in a single unbroken plunge, often billed as England’s highest above-ground waterfall of its kind. The catch is the way in: you reach it through the Green Dragon Inn at Hardraw, paying a few pounds at the pub and walking out through a turnstile to the wooded amphitheatre below the fall. It flows best after heavy rain, when the drop really earns its reputation. Garsdale station is about 8km to the west.
