If you want a waterfall without the walk, Cotter Force is about as easy as the Dales get — a gentle flight of stepped falls on Cotterdale Beck, reached by a level path of a few hundred metres from a lay-by off the A684 near Hawes. It’s more or less pushchair-friendly and stays quiet, and it looks lovely after rain when the flow picks up. Garsdale station is around 6km to the west.
